Derrick Rose (born October 4, 1988(1988-10-04)) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Chicago Bulls of the NBA. The 6 foot 3 inch point guard had the 11th best selling jersey in the league in the 2008–09 NBA season.
In his first year of professional basketball, Rose led the team (and all rookies) in assists, voted the Rookie of the Year and was selected to the All-Rookie Team as the Bulls returned to the playoffs. Chicago then fell to the Boston Celtics in seven games.
In 2009, an NCAA investigation revealed that Rose cheated on his SAT exams to gain eligibility to play for Memphis. As a result, the NCAA vacated Memphis' entire 2008 season.
